Sam Tucker and Kirsty Fords h/w notes

Sams homework:
Programme: ‘Rosie with A little help from her friends’
Channel: 71- Cbeebies
Time: 7:10-7:30
Target Audience- 1-5 yrs
Genre- Children’s, naturalistic comedy

In the opening titles there is a very cheery and bright themed tune, which engages the target audience because it is fun and exciting without a dull colour in sight it draws in the specific audience.
The setting is very bright, with deep greens and lights blues, all very basic bold colours, when the characters speak they speak with lots of passion and excitement in there voice, it is very loud and for the target audience I imagine dramatic, the house is very fake to our eyes but to a toddler this is the best thing they have ever seen. Of course as they do in most childrens programmes there is an animal that speaks in this case there is a bear who is all ways full of beans and shouts and is excited this relates to the target audience as the bear is the same age as the target audience. Even though a bear is a big scary animal, they manage to make it look friendly and fun, other things that are not realistic are 3 dancing acorns. In this episode they loose ‘little bear’ in a maze, he is playing a trick on the other characters which he finds amusing so therefore the target audience will. They have very much segregated boy from girl, showing the target audience what the stereotypical boy does and what the stereotypical girl does. The boy seems to like football and play tricks on people and the stereotypical girl is very floaty and gentle but also quite sensitive. The sub plot in this epidode is the bears dad is trying to build him a scooter. The characters names are very friendly, rosie, raggles, little bear etc etc. The end of the programme cuts to a purple background the theme song plays with multicoloured credits, the end of the show is the bear chasing his son who is vigorously peddling his new scooter.
